Every check is a fixed rule on your HTML — the same page always yields the same score, and nothing is sent to a language model. A future release may add an optional Answerability read that asks an AI to rate how quotable your copy is; the deterministic grade above will always stay free and reproducible.

What does the AEO grader check?
It fetches a single page and runs deterministic checks that decide whether AI answer engines can understand and cite it: structured data (JSON-LD) and its schema types, the title and meta description, Open Graph tags, a single clear H1 and a clean heading hierarchy, enough substantive content, a question-and-answer structure, whether an llms.txt exists, and whether your robots.txt lets the AI crawlers in.
Is this the same as the full AI visibility scan?
No. The grader is a static, one-shot snapshot of one page — it never calls an AI model. The full scan actually asks ChatGPT and Google Gemini real customer questions and measures whether it names and cites you. The grader tells you if your page is technically ready; the scan tells you whether AI actually recommends you.
Does the score use AI?
No. Every check is a deterministic rule on your HTML and files — the same input always gives the same score. Nothing is sent to a language model. That makes the grade reproducible and free to run.
What is a good score?
The bands mirror our scan vocabulary: 0–20 INVISIBLE, 21–50 FLICKERING, 51–80 VISIBLE, 81–100 DOMINANT. Anything in VISIBLE or above means the page is technically well-prepared for AI answers — but readiness is not the same as being recommended, which is what the full scan measures.
